Marketplace terms

Using IdleHours

IdleHours helps customers discover and contact independent local service businesses. Browsing is free. An enquiry is a request, and a provider must accept it before it is treated as confirmed.

Services and payment

The provider is responsible for delivering the service, its quality, licences, insurance and applicable consumer guarantees. Agree on scope, address, deposits and cancellation terms directly. IdleHours does not collect service payments, hold deposits or verify whether a payment occurred. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Business responsibilities

You must be authorised to advertise your business. Publish only genuine availability, accurate descriptions and prices you can honour. Include applicable taxes consistently with the marketplace pricing settings. Only show a reference price when you can support that it was genuinely charged. Do not publish prohibited or unlicensed services, misleading claims or content you have no right to use.

Offers and subscriptions

Starter includes two newly published offers per calendar month and one live offer at a time, unless the current marketplace policy says otherwise. The business timezone determines the month. Drafts do not use the allowance; deleting a published offer does not restore it. Optional paid plans are billed through Stripe when available. Your billing portal shows renewal, cancellation and invoice details. Changes to paid access preserve historical enquiries.

Reviews and moderation

Reviews must describe a real experience and be linked to an eligible enquiry. Do not impersonate another person or review your own business. We may review reports, request evidence, hide misleading content and restrict abusive accounts. A verified badge records our business-details review; it does not guarantee the service. Contact support to dispute a moderation decision.

Cancellations and disagreements

Providers must disclose service and cancellation terms before a request. Each party’s completion confirmation is recorded separately. A disagreement can be recorded in the enquiry and reviewed with supporting evidence. A completion status is not proof of payment.

Your account

Keep your credentials private and account information accurate. You can export or request deletion of your account in Account & alerts. Resolve outstanding enquiries and paid subscriptions first so other parties are not left without a contact.
